THE ART MANAGEMENT COURSE OFFERS A STUDY PROGRAM FOR EXHIBITIONS AND PROJECTS IN CONTEMPORARY ART. THE COURSE IS BASED ON A STEP-BY-STEP IMPLEMENTATION OF AN ARTISTIC PROJECT WITH THE LEADING ART MANAGERS OF THE COUNTRY, AN INTRODUCTION TO THE THEORY OF CONTEMPORARY ART, WORKSHOPS WITH PRACTICING PROFESSIONALS. THE PROGRAM ALSO PROVIDES TEAM PROJECTS WITH STUDENTS OF A PARALLEL COURSE FOR ARTISTS WITH DEVELOPMENT AND DETAILED PRESENTATION OF A COMMON PROJECT FOR POTENTIAL IMPLEMENTATION WITH THE SUPPORT OF KAMA AND PARTNERS.

As part of the program, you will learn how to properly plan and administer the process of preparing an event, learn about the specifics of working with artists and institutions, about the laws of communication and interaction with various audiences. The program includes a series of meetings with well-known Ukrainian practitioners (gallery owners, directors of institutions, critics) who, using examples of their recent projects, will tell about the specifics of the functioning of the artistic space and, in a broader sense, the cultural industry in Ukraine, its pitfalls and areas for potential development.

An important element of the program will be a block on advertising communication, developed by curators and lecturers of the advertising and marketing direction specifically for the Art Management course.

Lectures are given by leading art managers, curators, and artists of Ukraine.

  1. Introduction. Art system: a general cycle of lecture meetings for artists and managers.

    What is art? → Artist’s career → Art market → Curatorship → Contemporary museum → Biennial culture → Introduction to the theory → Fundraising → Meetings with practitioners

  2. Project management

    Introduction/task → Development of educational projects → Work on bugs - 3 stages of work on a project with professionals: Creative: tracking trends, choosing a topic, place, and circumstances for a future project → Logistic: organization of the process → Presentation: communication of the final project
